The Foundation for Student Aircraft Development, Manufacturing and Operation Lambach Aircraft (Stichting Studenten Vliegtuigontwikkeling, -bouw en -beheer Lambach Vliegtuigen, SSVOBB Lambach Vliegtuigen) is a foundation linked to the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology. The name says it all. We build, design and maintain aircraft. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Society of Aerospace Students "Leonardo da Vinci" students wanted to put theory into practice by building their own aircraft. In the end it was decided to build a replica of the Lambach HL II, an aerobatic aircraft originally designed in 1937. The SSVOBB was founded by and for students in 1990, to organise the production and operation of the aircraft. In 1994 a second project was started, when students decided to take on another challenge: the design of a completely new design of an innovative light propeller-driven aircraft, the Impuls. |
